David is a fully accredited addictions therapist with FDAP. He left the Priory Hospital at Marchwood, where he worked for 10 years and held the position of Addictions Treatment Programme Manager, to become co-founder of The Manor Clinic.
David is "in Recovery" from alcoholism and feels that his experience of both the illness and Recovery gives him an empathy that helps others significantly who are suffering from alcohol abuse. If they choose to take the option of in-patient treatment they are able to see there is a way forward. He is passionate about helping patients towards Recovery and sees The Manor Clinic as a way of "bridging the gap to normal living"
"I didn’t get sober to be miserable," he says, "I see my role as passing on a message of understanding based on the 12 Step Programme and helping others to gain enjoyment from their lives again".
As a specialist in addiction and the treatment of addiction he has, over the years, been asked to discuss addiction on numerous BBC and ITV television and radio programmes and has also been interviewed by International, National and local newspapers and magazines
