What is residential (inpatient) treatment?

Residential (inpatient) treatment is characterised by patients staying at Manor Clinic on a residential basis to undergo intensive rehab treatment for their addiction (including; alcohol, cocaine, heroin and cannabis) and any co-occurring mental health conditions. Treatment for addictions is typically delivered as part of our 28-day Addiction Treatment Programme, although we also offer flexible 21-day, 14-day and 7-day treatment programmes to fit in with our patients’ needs, requirements and commitments.

We believe that there is no such thing as effective one-size-fits-all treatment for addictions and co-occurring challenges. As such, we are committed to providing our patients with specialist treatment and focused care, which is designed to meet their specific needs. During your residential stay at Manor Clinic, you will receive round the clock care, including 24-hour monitoring from our nursing team.

At Manor Clinic, we understand that residential treatment can be a daunting prospect, at least at first. However, intensive residential treatment can have an incredibly positive impact on an individual’s health, wellbeing and quality of life. It provides the time, care and attention that is needed to fully address your mental, emotional and physical issues, and take steps towards the happy and fulfilling life that you deserve.

28-day treatment programme at Manor Clinic

Our 28-day Addiction Treatment Programme is the most intensive option that we offer at Manor Clinic. When you enter our 28-day programme, the first step will be for you to undergo a medically assisted detoxification (both alcohol detox and drug detox) programme if required, to manage the withdrawal state as any traces of drugs and alcohol are eliminated from your system. Once detox has been completed, you will then be able to transition directly to our rigorous therapy programme, in order to tackle the psychological side of your addiction.

The 28-day programme at Manor Clinic comprises:

  • Free, no obligation addiction assessment
  • Medically assisted withdrawal detoxification for substance addictions, if this is required
  • Medication management
  • Structured group therapy programmes, based on the 12-Step principles
  • A range of therapeutic interventions and wellbeing activities
  • A specialist family support programme
  • Access to 12-Step support groups
  • Free aftercare for life following treatment
  • Free family support for life following treatment

Patients are encouraged to stay with us for longer than 28 days if this is deemed as being beneficial for their wellbeing and long-term recovery.

21-day and 14-day treatment programme at Manor Clinic

At Manor Clinic, we are fully dedicated to helping our patients succeed in achieving their recovery goals and do so by thoroughly assessing their needs at the start and throughout their care. In some instances, we encounter individuals who are unable to partake in or do not require our comprehensive 28-day programme, though we still believe these people could benefit greatly from the services that we provide. For this reason, we are also able to offer 21-day and 14-day programmes in order to accommodate these individuals and provide them with the treatment and support they need to begin their journey to recovery.

The 21-day and 14-day programmes at Manor Clinic comprise:

  • Free, no obligation addiction assessment
  • Medically assisted withdrawal detoxification for substance addictions, if this is required
  • Medication management
  • Structured group therapy programme
  • A range of therapeutic interventions and wellbeing activities
  • A specialist family support programme
  • Access to 12-Step support groups
  • A tailored treatment experience that can be adjusted and revised based on the individual’s progress

Who would benefit from residential care at Manor Clinic?

Residential care is appropriate for patients who:

  • Need to be stabilised or require detoxification
  • Need a structured and intensive treatment plan
  • Need to spend some time away from their everyday living situation, which may be contributing to their addiction and co-occurring difficulties

The treatment lengths that we provide can be flexible according to our patients’ needs. For individuals embarking upon one of our shorter treatment lengths, we are able to facilitate a transition to our comprehensive 28-day programme if it transpires that they require further support for their addiction and co-occurring challenges. In this way, patients will also benefit from the free aftercare for life that we offer to individuals who stay with us for the 28-day programme.

Our expert approach empowers our patients to re-engage with themselves on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level, and develop healthy coping strategies for the future. Together, these experiences enable our patients to take steps towards a full and lasting recovery.
