Addiction Recovery – Spending Christmas in Rehab at Manor Clinic
For somebody living with an addiction, Christmas can be very challenging. Known as a season of overindulgence, the normalisation of excess can result in a person spiralling further into their addictive behaviours. The focus on family and on reflection can also serve as a reminder of how addiction has affected the last twelve months, causing the person to turn even more to their addiction in order to cope with these painful thoughts and feelings.
If you are thinking about going into rehab over the Christmas period through an Addiction Treatment Programme, or are looking to make an enquiry for someone else, Manor Clinic in Southampton will remain open throughout the festive period. The team at Manor Clinic are dedicated to supporting those who make the decision to put their recovery first over the holiday season.
Christmas within Manor Clinic’s Addiction Treatment Programme
Throughout December, Manor Clinic operates as usual. The team are there to support every person going through an Addiction Treatment Programme as well as Manor Clinic alumni.
On Christmas Day, the team will keep to a similar routine. In the morning, people will go through their group meditation and have the chance to meet with alumni afterwards to ask questions and seek advice. There will still be many opportunities to enjoy the festivities of the day, including a Christmas dinner.
As Christmas Day is on a Wednesday this year, there will be an Aftercare meeting to provide people with the opportunity to talk with peers, receive support for the festive season and ‘check in’ on their recovery. Remember that alumni can always pop in for a chat or give us a phone call, no matter what time of year it may be.
